The playbook from last week is still good.
I won’t be in a position to post charts until Wednesday, but I did want to do a quick post on what I am seeing.

I have been writing many posts over the last few months about the US Dollar. We may have found an intermediate term bottom last [...]

The Federal Open Market Committee, the U.S. central bank’s policy-setting body, said it did not believe such speculative activity had taken place to date, saying the dollar’s decline had thus far been “orderly.”

I found this one statement to be very noteworthy.  I’ve been posting US Dollar charts for months and noted how it has [...]

I wanted to wish everyone a good Thanksgiving. I’ll be on vacation the next week and I am unsure of whether I will have computer access. I would like to at least do a Sunday night post in preparation for next week but I am unsure whether I will have the ability to do so. [...]

The American websites are discussing the GDP revision down to 2.8%. The news story that has not yet hit US markets is the 3.5% drop in the Shanghai composite. It is being ignored right now (8:38 ET), but I’m not so sure it will be ignored the entire day.
Chinese stocks fell their furthest in [...]

There is a good article by Albert Bozzo at CNBC.com.

I have previously posted shorter term charts of UUP, UDN, $DXY and $USDUPX. All of those charts show the Dollar approaching 2008 support levels. This long term chart shows that this support level goes back to 1988. What does it mean? I find it [...]

We got the ramp job we had the last two Mondays but today’s action is not the same. The past two Mondays $TRIN trended very tightly and the market trended. Today, $TRIN started off very bullish but has continued to creep up the entire day.

Meanwhile, IWM continues to trade around its 50-day. [...]

Today looks like an exact repeat of the last two Mondays. $TRIN is at .38 right now and $TICK has been in positive territory the entire morning. In about 10 minutes, Existing Homes Sales comes out but I don’t see that data derailing the market today. I mentioned in the pre-market that the market looked [...]

LONDON (MarketWatch) — U.S. stock futures and a broad swathe of commodities moved higher on Monday, as comments from a Federal Reserve member who will vote next year caused investors to exit the greenback to reinvest elsewhere.

The obvious works in this market. I could imagine a novice trader doing very well in this market. “I’ve [...]

I’m going through my normal preparations this week although I’ll be away for vacation. The market will be on vacation this week too. The market is closed on Thursday and will close at 1pm ET on Friday. These lightly traded holiday weeks have tended to be bullish so that is something to keep in mind. [...]
